S23 E17 – Mid-Life Breakthrough with Darla Powell

Today’s Chaise Lounge showcases Miami designer Darla Powell of Darla Powell Interiors. Powell is a former Miami cop of 19 years who decided to follow her childhood compulsion to redecorate into an interior design career in 2017.

S23 E16 – Team Design with Pillar and Peacock Founders Brandeis Short and Adrianne Bugg

Today on the Chaise Lounge, Nick talks with two guests, the co-founders of Pillar and Peacock Adrianne Bugg and Brandeis Short.

Adrianne Bugg spent five years in finance before eventually joining up with Brandeis to start the firm. When she told her mother about it, it turns out she had saved her past sketch books for the day her daughter figured out the direction she needed.

Bugg’s direction dovetailed with Short’s. Brandeis Short majored in fine art and dance and needed to find a practical channel for those early career choices.

So in 2011, they founded Pillar and Peacock together. Today, Pillar and Peacock is a small and thriving residential and commercial design and architecture firm.

To see the work they do, visit Pillar and Peacock’s website PillarAndPeacock.com and follow the Instagram @pillar_and_peacock.
